Day 01: Arrival at Delhi
As your flight lands at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, you'll be welcomed in a traditional Indian manner by our representative. This will proceed with a travel to the hotel. Enjoy the multi-cuisine dinner served, before you retire off to unwind and refresh yourself for the tour.
Day 02: Delhi - Leh
In the morning, you'll be transferred to the airport to board a flight to Leh in the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. On arrival at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, you'll be driven to the hotel for check in. Rest of the day will be at your leisure. Move out and acclimatize yourself with the weather conditions and the nearby off town streets. Dinner and night stay will be at the hotel.
Day 03: Leh
On day three, post breakfast, a walking tour of the town will be planned. The major tourist attractions include the City Palace, built in the 17th century; the Buddhist temples known as Gompas; and the Shanti Stupa, built in 1991 that holds the relics of Buddha, enshrined by Dalai Lama himself. Later in the day, take a walk to the local markets. See, shop, and come back to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 04: Leh
Day four will start with a delectable breakfast at the hotel, after which you'll be taken on a day's tour around Leh. Buddhist monasteries of Hemis, Alchi, Shey, and Thikse form the major highlights of this blissful hamlet. In the evening, head back to the hotel to rest and freshen up for the following morning's trek.
Day 05: Leh - Marteslang - Chokdo
A drive to Marteslang will kick start your day five of the tour. It is from here that you'll begin your trekking tour to Chokdo, with about 5 hours of hiking. As you climb up, enjoy the panoramic views of the endless skies, rocky mountains, and dazzling rivulets. Overnight will be spent in the Chokdo village.
Day 06: Chokdo - Kongmaru La
Proceed to Kongmaru La in the morning, through the narrow gorges of the Kongma La Pass. Located at an altitude of 4800 m, the trek will take about 5 hours to complete. Some of the amazing views of the world will accompany you through the trek. Stay overnight in a camp and rest the night off.
Day 07: Kongmaru La - Nimaling
On day seven, you'll hike from Kongmaru La to the green pastures in Nimaling that are grazed by thousands of sheep, goats, and yaks in the summer months. The zigzag descend from Kongmaru to Nimaling will take about 5 hours. Overnight will be spent in a camp.
Day 08: Nimaling - Hankar
This morning, continue your trek through the vast green meadows to Thachutse, crossing the Nimaling River. Nestled at an altitude of 4000 m, the trek would take about 5 hours to reach Hankar. Overnight stay will be in camps.
Day 09: Hankar - Markha
On day nine, descend down the terrain while marveling at the wonderful views of several monasteries and ruins that are scattered here. Continue treading on these paths up to Umlung, after which the the valley narrows down and becomes a gorge. A four hour trek should bring you to the village of Markha, which is also a home to Ladakh's oldest fort and monastery. Spend the night in the village.
Day 10: Markha - Chalok
Continue your trek and proceed to Chalok, sited at an elevation of 3450 m. About four hours hike from Markha, you'll come across bedraggled monasteries and some well maintained Stupas. Not to mention that the gorgeous views of the valley and endless skies will accompany you throughout the journey. Sync into it all and upon reaching Chalok, spend the night in a camp.
Day 11: Chalok - Shingo
The day will begin with a trek to Shingo, located at an altitude of 4150 m. While ascending up to the place, the six hour hike will pass you through Markha, crossable only via bridges. After crossing the valley, proceed to Shingo and spend the night in a camp.
Day 12: Shingo - Ganda La - Rumbak
Continue your trek in the morning, journeying further to Rumbak, situated at an altitude of 3750 m. Before descending onto it, you'll first have to move up the terrain to Ganda La Pass. The colorful prayer flags flapping in the wind and the Zanskar range in the background will make the trek all the more enthralling and memorable. Hereafter, carefully move down the terrain along the Jingchan River to Rumbak. The trek should take about 7 hours to complete. En-route, halt to capture the breathtaking views of the snow-clad Stok Kangri, the highest peak in the Stok Range of the Himalayas in the Ladakh region. Overnight stay will be in camps at Rumbak.
Day 13: Rumbak - Namlung La - Stok
From Rumbak, proceed to Stok Valley via Namlung La Pass. Descend down while enjoying the beautiful views of the Indus Valley. After about 6 hours of trekking, you'll reach Stok Valley and spend the night in the village. The valley is famous for its palace and museum. If time and energy permits, you can make a short visit to them. Here, the trekking section of the tour will come to an end.
Day 14: Stok - Leh
In the morning, you'll be driven back to Leh and the entire day will at your leisure. Stay at the hotel to shed off the weariness or explore, for the last time, the city with all its beauty and celestial views. Overnight and dinner will be at the hotel.
Day 15: Leh - Delhi Departure
Post wholesome and traditional breakfast at the hotel, you'll be transferred to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport to board a flight to Delhi. With this, your tour officially comes to an end. Thereafter, you can catch a flight for your onward travel or board the train / bus to return back home.
