Day 01: Arrival at Kolkata
On your arrival at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, you'll be by our representative, who'll escort you to the hotel where you can relax for a while. In the afternoon, you'll be taken on a brief tour of the city to catch a glimpse of the old Kolkata city. Victoria Memorial, Park Street cemetery, New Market area, and several museums are some worth-visiting attractions. Spend the night at the hotel.
Day 02: Kolkata
Day two is reserved for exploring Kolkata's unique and diversified culture. After a nutritious breakfast at the hotel, you'll be traveling to the heart of the city to explore the local life. The art and architecture of the city is a mix of English, Portuguese and French artistry. The history of this place is so vast and glorious that you'll end up falling in love with it. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 03: Kolkata - Sunderbans
You'll be served a sumptuous Bengali breakfast at the hotel, after which you'll embark on a 2-3 hour journey to the Sunderbans region. Sunderbans is an exotic land crafted out of fables since the expanse of greens here is simply incredible and unbelievable. Catch a boat from the bank for a ride into the mangrove forests, famous for the Royal Bengal Tigers. Your night stay will be arranged in a lodge or hotel at Sunderbans.
Day 04: Sunderbans - Kolkata
Enjoy a delectable breakfast at the lodge. The entire day will see you exploring Sunderbans. Visit the Project Tiger to know about the animal species that are on the verge of getting extinct. An enticing boat safari is booked for you thereafter, which will take you to the core of this area to witness the dwellings of various fauna and avifauna. Drive back to Kolkata in the evening to board the train to New Jalpaiguri. Dinner will be served on-board. Night will be spent on the train.
Day 05: Darjeeling
As soon as you arrive in Jalpaiguri in the morning, you'll be transferred to the "toy train" towards your next destination, Darjeeling. Breakfast and lunch will be served in the train as you'll arrive at Darjeeling only in the evening. Check out the aromatic and appealing tea and spice plantations on the way. As you reach Darjeeling, you'll be driven to the hotel where you can relax and stay overnight.
Day 06: Darjeeling
This day is reserved for discovering the beautiful and beguiling city of Darjeeling, covered with lush greens and towering hills. Apart from sight seeing, you can try your hand at adventure sports at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. Continue your excursion with a visit to the zoological gardens to spot a number of interesting and exotic breeds of fauna, especially the snow leopard. Later, you'll visit the famous tea estates. The lazy afternoon can be spent by strolling through the streets of Darjeeling, exploring tea varieties, sipping a few, and chatting with the natives. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 07: Darjeeling - Rumtek
Wake up early in the morning to witness the sunrise, visible clearly from the sunrise point at Tiger Hill. Marvel at the beautiful view as the sun rises and changes colors with the morning sky. Return back to the hotel for breakfast. Make yourself comfortable in the cab as you embark the journey towards Rumtek. The drive will take up the whole day. After reaching Rumtek, you'll be accommodated in the hotel to spend the night.
Day 08: Rumtek - Gangtok - Rumtek
After having breakfast at the hotel, you'll be taken on a guided tour of Rumtek. Some major and popular sightseeing places include the breathtakingly beautiful monasteries which are full of spirituality and serene placidness. Drive to Gangtok in the afternoon through the meandering yet incredible roads. After you are done with touring Gangtok, return back to the hotel at Rumtek for overnight stay.
Day 09: Rumtek
Breakfast will be served at the hotel. From here you'll be taken to Tsongo Lake which is the closest point of the Tibetan Border. The drive towards the lake is filled with vivid landscapes. This mesmerizing frozen lake is situated at 4000 m above sea level. Interestingly, you can actually ride a yak on the lake. What's more, fill your lungs with pure, crisp and fresh mountain air. Return to Rumtek to spend the night at the hotel.
Day 10: Rumtek - Kalimpong
Your destination for day ten of the tour will be Kalimpong. After an early morning meal, you'll be driven to Kalimpong. This serene heaven lets one sit back and relax, away from the chaotic and tensed city life. You are free to roam around and absorb the beauty scattered hither and thither. The night will be spent at the hotel.
Day 11: Kalimpong
Kalimpong is a hub for horticulture farming and hence, has a number of foreign bread fruit trees. There are fruit orchids at loose proximities. It is a paradise for photographers as colorful fruits of all shapes dangling from trees are some incredibly delightful sights to capture on your wide lens. Other interesting places to see here are Dr Grahams Childrens' Home, which is in function since 1910, and a small factory where paper is produced using traditional methods. You'll be spending the night at the hotel.
Day 12: Kalimpong - Bagdogra - Guwahati - Kaziranga
Post breakfast, you'll be transferred to Bagdogra Airport to catch a flight to Guwahati. Upon arrival, you'll be quickly accompanied to Kaziranga National Park, a five-hour journey from the airport. You will be spending the night at a lodge or forest resort.
Day 13 - 14: Kaziranga
These two days will se you exploring Kaziranga. The mornings will booked for elephant safaris inside the Kaziranga National Park to spot the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros. The evenings, on the other hand, are reserved for jeep safaris in the jungle. Overnight stays are arranged at the resort.
Day 15: Kaziranga - Guwahati - Kolkata
After an early morning safari, you'll ride back to Guwahati Airport to catch a flight to Kolkata. Being your last day in Kolkata, you can go for last minute shopping collecting souvenirs and knick-knacks. Check in to the hotel and pamper yourself with a heavy multi-cuisine dinner. Retire for the day to unwind your tiredness.
Day 16: Kolkata Departure
Finish off your breakfast, after which you'll be transferred to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport to board the flight for your onward travel.
